Dr Tian Zhuang
General Practitioner
Dr Tian completed her medical training at the University of Newcastle and Nanjing and subsequently earned a Master of Public Health and a PhD in Medicine/Epidemiology from the University of Sydney.

Areas of interest
- Outside medicine she enjoys travel (including the Arctic, Antarctica and the Galápagos), gardening, and kayaking on Lake Macquarie.
- She is an accredited Methadone/Suboxone prescriber. She also prescribes nicotine vape to help people to stop smoking.
- Working full time, Dr Tian has broad clinical interests and regularly attends medical education and professional development activities to maintain up‑to‑date clinical knowledge.
- Bilingual in English and Mandarin, Dr Tian has practised in the Newcastle region for over 20 years and has worked across all five local hospitals (John Hunter, Mater, Belmont, Maitland and Tamworth). She has provided after‑hours care with GP Access clinics since 2006 and currently works there at Belmont Hospital. Earlier in her career she worked at Royal Alfred Hospital (RPA) and Concord Hospital in Sydney.
- She trained in obstetrics and gynaecology before completing general practice training with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and is a Fellow (FRACGP).

Dr Farnaz Atabaki
General Practitioner
We welcome Dr Farnaz Atabaki, a new GP to join our practice soon.
She will bulk bill all new patients for their first visit.
I have been a GP since 2003 with extensive experience primary care settings, providing comprehensive care across all age groups and with a focus on holistic, patient-centred, and evidence-based care.
My clinical scope includes the management of acute and chronic conditions such as Cardiovascular diseases (hypertension), respiratory diseases (asthma, COPD), endocrine and metabolic disorders (diabetes, thyroid disorders), haematological conditions (anaemia), gastrointestinal diseases (dyspepsia, GORD), renal diseases (chronic kidney disease), musculoskeletal and rheumatologic diseases (osteoarthritis, osteoporosis), infectious diseases (common bacterial, viral and fungal infections), skin conditions, as well as common paediatric presentations alongside acute presentations, preventive healthcare, chronic disease management, and long-term follow-up within multidisciplinary teams.
I am committed to clinical safety, continuity of care, and ongoing professional development.

Dr Sandra Wang
General Practitioner
We will be welcoming Dr Sandra to our Practice who will work in our practice from 13/07/2026 to 07/08/2026 while Dr Tian Zhuang is on leave.
Dr Sandra Wang is a thoughtful, reliable clinician with excellent communication skills and a comprehensive approach to patient care. She values high-quality, evidence-based, and compassionate approaches to clinical practice.

Grace McKenna
Registered Nurse
Grace McKenna is a registered nurse at Lake Macquarie medical centre with over 15 years of clinical experience.
Grace has worked in many areas of nursing including Imaging and Neonatal special care at Westmead hospital. Grace settled on a career as a practice nurse as she is very passionate about providing family centred holistic care in a way her patients feel heard and supported. Grace provides immunisation for all age groups, from newborn to aged care. She provides baby checks to over 75 years old health assessments. Outside of work Grace enjoys spending time with her children and grandchildren as well as travelling, baking, cooking and reading.

Dr Monjura Akter
General Practitioner
Dr Monjura Akter is an Australian-registered medical practitioner with broad experience across hospital medicine. She has worked in emergency medicine, general medicine, geriatrics, cardiology, oncology, respiratory medicine, vascular surgery and rehabilitation throughout New South Wales, developing a comprehensive approach to patient care. Passionate about preventative healthcare and continuity of care. Dr Akter enjoys partnering with patients to achieve their long-term health goals. She provides compassionate, evidence-based medical care and values developing lasting relationships with individuals and families. Her areas of interest include women’s health, chronic disease management, preventative medicine, mental health, aged care, and acute medical conditions. She is dedicated to creating a welcoming environment where patients feel heard, respected and actively involved in decisions about their healthcare. Outside of work, Dr Akter enjoys travelling, spending time with her family and exploring the beautiful Newcastle region.
